What Is Your Intention For The World This Year?

Happy New Year!

For many, the change over to a new year brings with it a desire to set a goal; an intention at the individual level. For example, lose weight, quit smoking, declutter, get in shape, be debt free, etc.

But what if this year, each person also made a global intention that would benefit all? For example, creating a sustainable world for every living thing including our Mother Earth.

Now my example of creating a sustainable world may first appear as something that is way too big for one person to create, but this belief is an illusion (along with many other illusions) that we have been brought up to believe.

When you see past the illusion of separation and understand how interconnected everyone and everything is, you will also see and understand that every action you take (no matter how small it may appear) has a ripple effect on the global reality.

Your one voice/intention can and does create a ripple effect on the global reality at all time. We continually impact the global reality.

The intent behind setting a global intention is to simply focus your intention and that focused intention can become world changing.

Not so sure?

Just look at the #metoo movement that took off in 2017.

This was one person who said enough is enough and took a stand. They set an intention for sexual abuse to be brought out of the backroom and into the public eye. The #metoo gave women and men who had been sexually abused a voice. The #metoo movement has created a global shift to address, change and ultimately eliminate sexual abuse from our global reality.

How about you?

Would you like to create a global intention but aren’t sure where to begin?

Would you like to create a global intention on a somewhat smaller scale because going big like #metoo would be overwhelming?

Here’s a quick list of how you can create and set your global intention in motion…Choose a global intention that really speaks to you. One that you are very passionate about.

  • Believe in your intention and believe your intention is possible.

  • Create a vision in your mind of what the world would look like with this intention in place and hold that vision.

  • Check-in/question each action you take before you take it. Ask yourself, “does/will this action align with my core global intention?”. For example, if your global intention is to create a sustainable world, say no to plastic straws and one-use plastic bags. Use an energy efficient vehicle and/or walk to your destination whenever possible. Purchase locally sourced food where possible. Others will see the changes are making and may follow suit.

  • Know that you are not alone in your intention. With over 7.3 billion people on the planet, there are likely many, many people who desire the same world vision as you do.

  • Focus and get involved in activities that are pro ‘x’ where ‘x’ is your global intention. For example, if your global intention is to create world peace, focus on pro-peace activities instead of anti-war. The energy associated with each is different.

As you can see, whether you want your global intention to have a big voice or a less overwhelming voice, the path is similar and your intention can and will make a difference.
