World Kindness Day and Its Impact on Global Unity

World Kindness Day

Today (November 13th) is World Kindness Day.

To be honest, I had no idea World Kindness Day was even a thing. I just happened to hear about it the other day.

I did a search to find out more about it.

World Kindness Day was started in 1998 by The World Kindness Movement (WKM). According to their website, their mission is "to inspire individuals towards greater kindness and to and connect nations to create a kinder world."

My Initial Reaction

I don't know about you, but I find being kind is just a nice way to be.

Why?

Being kind makes me feel good and most of all I hope it helps the recipient of kindness feel good.

So, I was a little puzzled as to why we have a World Kindness Day.

Taking a Moment to Reflect

Then the reality of what's going on in our world came into my thoughts. That's when I understood...yes, we need a World Kindness Day.

The Potential Impact for Global Unity

Why?

If nothing else, perhaps awareness of the day will result in one person consciously choosing to be kind for that day or even just one act of kindness on that day. Then another person, and another, and another consciously choosing to be kind.

Perhaps it will create a ripple effect that creates a groundswell of change.

A groundswell of change that brings us back to our more natural state of compassion, empathy and collective unity.

A groundswell of change that re-awakens our species to our interconnectedness with each other and all life.

Imagine what that would be like.

Til next time,

I hope you found this article helpful. If you did, please social share it. Together we can help create a better world for all.
