Whose life are you living?
Do you ever wonder if you are living your life or the life of someone else?
Here’s another MindShift Moments moment to ponder.
“If you create your life based on the beliefs of another you are creating their life, not yours.” – Lisa Layden
What do I mean by that?
In your brain, you have an unbelievable amount of beliefs about everything.
Beliefs about life, the world, others, money, what’s right and wrong, good or bad, your place in the world, etc.
The list goes on and on.
Where did most of these beliefs come from?
The majority came from your parents, your caregivers, your teachers, your peers, etc. and of course, the media in all forms.
For the most part, these beliefs reside in your subconscious and you don’t even realize you have them.
Occasionally, you may hear yourself say or think something and wonder where the heck that perception came from, but for the most part, you are unaware of them.
As a result, you go about creating your life based on the beliefs (which are simply perceptions) of others.
If you want to actually create YOUR authentic life, you need to unearth and question these beliefs.
How?
One way to get started is to write a list about everything you believe about everything.
Go through your list or at least the ones that stand out most to you and ask yourself “Are they true or simply the perception of what another believes is true? Do they serve me or hold me back?”
And then listen to the answer from your inner-self, not your ego.
From there, you can consciously decide to keep what is true for you and what serves you.
Re-frame the others to be based on fact, empowerment and abundance.
Create your own fact beliefs that are for your highest version of you.
Teach your brain this new data by repeating the new facts to yourself daily.
Then you can begin to create your life, not a life created on the perceptions of others.
